Man flown to Tamworth hospital after accident shooting on Thunderbolts Way – Bundarra


A man has been airlifted to hospital after a suspected accidental shooting on a property nearBundarra.

Emergency services received a Triple-0 call after reports of a firearm being discharged on a farm off the Thunderbolts Way just before 8am on Tuesday.

“A patient suffered injuries to his upper arm and abdomen,” a spokesperson for Ambulance NSW said.

“The patient was driven by road ambulance to a nearby oval where he was airlifted by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.”

The Rescue Helicopter’s doctor and paramedic assessed the 30-year-old man at the scene for gun shot wounds.

He was the airlifted to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital in a serious condition.

New England police were called to the property and confirmed investigations were ongoing into the incident but it was being treated as an accidental discharge.
