These Carsons are attractive, lightweight, compact and ergonomically superb, with effectively grooved and checkered rubber armouring to shrug off knocks and bumps.

Carson's new hunting Binoculars

I am pleased to report that the sample I reviewed was well collimated and provided a crystal- clear image, accurate focusing via the right barrel dioptre and centre focusing wheel and excellent low light performance. Alex and I sat on a hillside glassing for a solid two hours, right through late afternoon, dusk and early evening and I suffered no eyestrain and was able to clearly distinguish highly detailed, semi-concealed, stationary black wallaroos out to a kilometre while Alex was having some difficulties discerning those same objects.

The 3D Series binoculars come boxed with a comfortable padded neck strap as well as a chest harness as a standard inclusion, something that would cost you upwards of $30 separately. A lens cloth completed the sample but I could find no lens covers; no doubt they would be included.

The binocular tested carries a RRP of $569, but shopping around may drop that a bit. Distributed in Australia by Zen Imports.

MaXbox Door Pro review

Eagleye's Door Pro, based on the innovative MaXbox rifle rest, is ideal for shooting from a vehicle.

The Door Pro is a simple and effective rifle rest for hunters who shoot from a vehicle. It's light, easy to use and great for quickly getting well-aimed shots away.
