Hunting feral goats

21 Sep 2011, by Alex Juris
Where did you hunt?
Central Tablelands, New South Wales
When?
15 Jan 2010 to 17 Jan 2010
What you caught
Feral goats
Weapons used
Tikka T3 .308 Stainless Walnut Sporter with Sightron 3-9x40 riflescope

These goats were competing for feed on a local sheep property and the farmer asked me to thin them out.

Consequently, I drove in and parked the vehicle, walked up over a ridge and saw these mid-sized goats across a gully on an opposite facing ridge about 150 yards away.

As there were only two in this group, I decided to shoot one and leave his carcass where a local mob of pigs could feed on him.

This gave me the opportunity to come back a week later to cull some pigs for the farmer as well.
